Sheerwater
New Build House_
The design brief for Sheerwater was to reimagine a decaying sixties bungalow, set within a conservation area, into a series of spaces with blurred boundaries to the outside. The result is a contemporary home set across two levels connected vertically by a two storey void
at the heart of the home, with a “pin-wheel” plan connecting social rooms and gardens horizontally.
The ground level of the home retains many traits of a typical bungalow, fully catering for the needs of the clients at a single level, with the addition of staggered timber volumes at first floor to accommodate the many visiting family members and work spaces.
